Here’s my laughingsquid post from yesterday featuring a clip of the game show Price Is Right on New Years in 1962 where people can really win a New Ice Cream Truck! There’s a vintage Newport cigarettes ad in there, too. Fun video.

I hadn’t mentioned yet my Laughingsquid post over the weekend. Vintage Polaroid commercials are the theme, Jerry Lewis is the star (with Jack Paar and Aaron Paul of TV’s Breaking Bad in fine form, too). Oh, and it looks like it got picked up by Forbes.

Another new post by yours truly on LaughingSquid, again about comedy, specifically the new sitcom “Veep” about the Vice-Prez of the US created by Armando Iannucci a master satirizer of the British political world. And the American cast is none too shabby: HBO Comedy Veep with Julia Louis-Dreyfus Has British Roots.
Looks like they stealth-launched @SelinaMeyerVeep on Twitter. No tweets, only 35 followers and a link to this page with videos. Here’s one of them:
Make sure to check out Julia as Nina Blackwood in a 1984 SNL sketch, cuz that’s funny:

My latest Laughingsquid post is on David Mitchell one of my favorite current comedians. It features his Soapbox series of rants like this great one on phones.
Lots more in the post including his version of John Hodgman’s PC character in the UK “Get A Mac” ad campaign.

Shatner birthday flashback: singing to the space shuttle
A post that I did on Laughing Squid about a year ago. It features William Shatner making a wakeup call to the space shuttle Discovery during its final mission. The post also covers the history of both space mission wakeup calls and the Star Trek theme song.
Yesterday (March 22, 2012) was Shatner’s 81st birthday and also my Mom’s birthday (tho she’s a bit younger). :)

A “Breaking Bad” tattoo. It may simply be the best TV show of all time. But not sure what message you’re sending if you’ve got Heisenberg’s face adorning your arm. Via fuckyeahtattoos

Arrested Development reduxes! 10 episodes & a movie. of course they won’t air until 2013, after the world has ended. But I think that’s an appropriately Bluth-like media strategy.
As BuzzFeed, we intend to beat the drum in celebration of the return of Arrested Development as much as possible…
