Le Chat Noir, Paris, or “The Studio Cat”, André Kertész via poboh
André Kertész (2 July 1894 – 28 September 1985), born Kertész Andor, was a Hungarian-born photographer known for his groundbreaking contributions to photographic composition and the photo essay. In the early years of his career, his then-unorthodox camera angles and style prevented his work from gaining wider recognition. Kertész never felt that he had gained the worldwide recognition he deserved. Today he is considered one of the seminal figures of photojournalism.[1][2]

The Can Haz DJ finale, tune in tonight 3/27/2012 starts at 8pm on Flickr.
The Last episode of Can Haz DJ is tonight, starting early on http://radiovalencia.fm at 8pm and going late til 2AM—6 hours@ details below…
Via Flickr:
My cat Astrophe may not look stressed, but she’s undoubtedly sad that she won’t be photographed as much soon—at least not with incredible music like Rahasaan Roland Kirk, MC 5, Monks of Doom, The Heartbreakers, Fishbone, Thomas Brinkmann, Hugo Largo…. the stuff of what Can Haz DJ is made.
Used to be anyway. Tonight is the final episode of my show on RadioValencia.fm. And I’ll make the most of it. Expanding to a one-time-only out with a bang 6-hour show from 8pm to 2am. More details on the Can Haz DJ finale here.
6 hours. That’s 25% of a whole day! And I still, definitely cannot fit everything in that I’d like to.
I am going out with an extended echoey bang. Playing Jazz, Punk, Rap, Glitch and other Electronica, good old rock and roll, plus New Wave, Dub, country-dust-songwriting-Americana-whaddyacallit, a horde of amazing covers, and a bit of everything else. Hope you can tune in at radiovalencia.fm starting at 8pm Pacific!

As you probably know by now, it’s dub month on my radio show Can Haz DJ. These are some of the images that I’ve shot of my cats & dub CDs—I use them as “cover images” for the podcasts of the show.
